The Safety and health of our CGI community is the foundation of our Safety Management System. At CGI, every member of our team has the responsibility to make the health and safety of ourselves, our co-workers, our customers, contractors, and members of the public our primary concern. This objective is fundamental to our well-being, as well as to the efficient operation of our business.
Environmental sustainability is all of our responsibilities. At CGI, we recognize the importance of executing our work while taking proactive measures to minimize the environmental impacts from our business operations.

EVALUATING OUR EFFECTIVENESS
A multi-faceted assessment process guides our review of health and safety performance and helps us achieve provincial certifications that are critical to ongoing operations. Connect Group undergoes audits to maintain our Certificate of Recognition, or COR, which is issued by Alberta Occupational Health & Safety to employers who have implemented a workplace health and safety management system that meets provincial standards. The COR is valid for a three-year period, with maintenance audits required for the years in between.
Connect Group also voluntarily participates in the Partners in Injury Reduction (PIR) program which encourages injury prevention and effective health, safety and disability management systems in the workplace. It is a joint effort by the Alberta Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB), the Alberta Ministry of Labour and Immigration, Alberta Occupational Health & Safety, industry and safety associations, employers and labour groups.
At CGI, every worker is responsible and accountable for the safety of ourselves, our co-workers, other workers and ensuring that we demonstrate our commitment while at work and at home. Our Safety Management System connects our values with our commitment to our CGI community and that of our clients.
